National Semiconductor Integrates Audio in Bluetooth, Automotive and Wireless Handsfree Systems
September 27, 2005 - National Semiconductor Corporation (NYSE:NSM) today introduced an integrated analog circuit that includes complex analog blocks and performs key functions of the audio signal path for Bluetooth and other wireless applications. Nationals high-performance CP3SP33SMR is optimized for Bluetooth and non-Bluetooth handsfree systems as well as telematics platforms (such as head sets) and automotive multimedia gateways.Combining an integrated analog audio path with customary automotive connectivity modules, this embedded product improves overall system optimization and faster turn-around time for Nationals customers, said Pat Sullivan, product line director for Nationals Device Connectivity Division.
The CP3SP33SMR targets a full-range of wireless end systems, from low-to-mid-tier through after-market and entry systems. It integrates the complete audio path (industry-standard DSP core and high performance analog) and connectivity modules including CAN, UART and USB 2.0.
National is able to provide basically a total telematics system to its customers says Kristian Palm, regional manager at Teleca Sweden West. As design partner of National, we see a clear value advantage in the offering of not just the total hardware, but also the availability of all firmware, including the drivers, the Bluetooth stack and Teleca certified middleware as well as application modules in a total development environment.
Pricing and Availability
Nationals CP3SP33SMR is priced at $13.50 in 1,000-unit quantities and is available now in a 144-pin count ball grid array (BGA) package. Download a product description of this advanced device: http://www.national.com/appinfo/cp3000/.
