Partners Are Now Equipped With New Tools and Services for Selling Additional Customer Services and Solutions to Their Client Base
SANTA CLARA, Calif., Aug. 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ McAfee, Inc. (NYSE: MFE), the leader in Intrusion Prevention and Security Risk Management, today announced the launch of three new offerings to the McAfee SecurityAlliance including a "Try It Before You Buy It" option, the MAX Hotline and the Security Action Pack, a not-for-resale (NFR) offering. McAfee has also reduced the minimum order size for its Opportunity Registration offering to $1,000USD from $25,000USD announced earlier, and extended the registration period to 120 days.These offerings are available to participants in the McAfee SecurityAlliance and demonstrate McAfee's continued commitment to developing and serving a strong partner network.

"Try It Before You Buy It"
"Try It Before You Buy It" offers customers with a way to experience McAfee's security solutions prior to purchasing the hardware. In order to demonstrate proof of concept and technical ability, partners will be able to provide customers with a new IntruShield, Foundstone and/or WebShield appliance while giving them the ability to purchase the unit at the end of the evaluation period. This new offering is ideal for partners as their customers are able to experience first hand the product in their own environment, ensuring that their specific security solutions criteria are met and that the chosen solution will fit with their individual needs. Partners can utilize the McAfee SecurityAlliance eXchange (MAX) to evoke the Try-Buy opportunity.
Security Action Pack
The McAfee Security Action Pack is available to McAfee SecurityAlliance AssociatePartners and provides partners with an opportunity to test and use select McAfee software in their own environment, which will help them recommend and sell McAfee solutions to their client base. The products included are designed especially for the small- to medium-sized reseller businesses. The Security Action Pack includes a 12-month license for up to 20 nodes of products, from the desktop, server and management product groups.
MAX Hotline
The MAX Hotline offers partners enhanced support for a broad variety of partner issues and enables them to spend more time selling and building customer relationships and less time problem solving. Partners may access McAfee customer support via a toll-free phone number and/or e-mail for questions around areas such as order status and grant look-up. "The MAX Hotline encourages partner sales reps to spend more time with the customers and on selling, two very important components for someone focused on sales," said Dean Wilcox, principle, Advanced Network Systems, Inc. partner. Opportunity Registration
McAfee SecuirtyAlliance Opportunity Registration provides financial incentives to reward partners for the pre-sales investment associated with securing sales opportunities in target market segments. The incentive rebate is available to the partner who is first to register an approved business opportunity.To qualify for participation, partners must meet all McAfee SecurityAlliance criteria, including having status as an ElitePartner, PremierPartner, or AssociatePartner. The new minimum size new business opportunity that can be registered is $1,000USD for the McAfee IntruShield, Entercept, WebShield Appliances, Foundstone and E-Business Server product portfolios.
Availability
Security Action Packs, MAX Hotline and enhancements to Opportunity Registration are available immediately in North America, and "Try It Before You Buy It" will be available in North America on September 5, 2005.
