ASC Medication Assist Selects drugstore.com, inc. for Mail-Order Pharmacy Services

ASC Medication Assist currently provides services in Oklahoma, Kansas, Arkansas, Colorado, and Missouri.

In addition to the new arrangement with ASC Medication Assist, the drugstore.com(TM) pharmacy provides mail-order pharmacy fulfillment services on a contracted basis to AmeriScript, Inc., Argus Health Systems, Inc., DestinationRx, Inc., Envision Pharmaceutical Services, Inc., Frontline Pharmaceuticals, Patient Assistance Services, Inc., US Script, Inc.

The drugstore.com(TM) mail-order pharmacy program offers ASC Medication Assist members a host of value-added features and personalized customer service. drugstore.com, inc. will provide ASC Medication Assist members with a variety of services, including EMedAlert(TM), alerting members about drug warnings, updates, and recalls; the Drug Price Index, showing consumers the price savings from purchasing larger quantities of a drug or choosing a generic version of the drug; the Drug Information Database, listing relevant data about the more than 4,800 drugs stocked by the drugstore.com(TM) pharmacy; and the Drug Interaction Checker, providing information on drug interactions, including drug-drug, drug-food, drug-vitamin, drug-herb, and drug-alcohol interactions. Other drugstore.com(TM) services available to ASC Medication Assist members include the Generic Insider, which notifies customers if a branded drug they are taking becomes available in a generic form; the Ask Your Pharmacist Q & A, which allows customers to browse a database of more than 800 frequently asked health-related questions; and the Health Guide, which provides consumers with practical, science-based information on hundreds of common health concerns, including menopause, osteoporosis, breast health, nutrition, vitamins, herbs, supplements, natural products, sports nutrition, and weight loss.

Prescriptions for ASC Medication Assist members will be fulfilled through drugstore.com, inc.'s state-of-the-art 290,000-square-foot national mail-order facility located in Swedesboro, New Jersey. The drugstore.com(TM) pharmacy is fully licensed to dispense in all 50 U.S. states and is certified by the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy's Verified Internet Pharmacy Practice Sites (VIPPS) program.
